The Artist
Kimry Jelen is an equine artist and painter based in Oregon’s High Desert. Her work explores presence, perception, and emotional atmosphere through a process she describes as almost sculptural—allowing the essence and character of landscapes, animals, and lived experience to emerge gradually through layered paint and gesture.
Whether depicting horses or more abstracted studies of form and landscape, each piece is guided by the same focus on what is felt as much as what is seen.
My brushwork is a journey rather than a destination—each painting unfolding through color, movement, and the feeling of being in the presence of something alive.
Kimry Jelen is an equine artist based in Sisters, Oregon, serving collectors throughout Bend, Portland, Salem, Eugene, and beyond with original horse paintings, wildlife art, and contemporary Western artwork inspired by the landscapes of the Pacific Northwest.
